explorersNew discoveries have always been made by brave and curious people, and have also made significant footprints in history. In order to understand why the world looks like it does today you need to explore the history! And remember; it is always the winner who gets to write/dictate the history.  We also have to look at it as discoveries for the western world. The “discovered continents” were of course already known to people outside Europe. These events brought both positive and negative effects depending on different perspectives.

When you start off a research project, what do you do?

To get an overall view of the topic, we usually recommend you to go to various encyclopedias, both in print and online. Let’s discuss pros and cons with Wikipedia, Worldbook, Britannica and ne.se.

And don’t forget to check out the library catalog.

The outcome is suppose to be a digital poster where you get to design its layout. If you want to use other people’s pictures, don’t forget to check if you’re allowed to in accordance to the right creative commons licence! 🙂
